TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Overview

Located in Tanzania’s Manyara Region, Tarangire National Park spans approximately 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles) and is renowned for its raw beauty, dramatic landscapes, and extraordinary wildlife. The park’s terrain is a captivating mix of granitic ridges, river valleys, grassy plains, and seasonal swamps—offering diverse habitats for a wide array of animals.

A River of Life

Named after the Tarangire River, which winds through the park, this vital waterway becomes the lifeline for wildlife during the dry season. From June to October, animals from across the region migrate here in search of water, creating some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in Tanzania. The river’s banks come alive with activity, offering a classic safari spectacle.
